The Mess Hall Restaurant Website

I have worked with the family behind Teton Valley Resort for years and built a wonderfully close relationship with them along the way. Having designed and built websites for their resorts, cabins and retreats, it was only a matter of time before their restaurant got the same treatment.

The project

The project

I have worked with the family behind Teton Valley Resort for years and have built a wonderfully close relationship with them. After designing and building websites for their resorts, cabins and retreats, it was only a matter of time before I gave their restaurant website a refresh too.

The Mess Hall is the resort’s restaurant, and its old site had fallen behind the rest of the family’s digital presence. The work centred on Figma design and Framer development: a new look, a cleaner structure and a build the team can update themselves.

Since launch their website views have skyrocketed, and The Mess Hall finally has a modern digital home that matches the quality of the place itself.

The opportunity

The opportunity

The Mess Hall’s website had aged. It no longer reflected the restaurant, and it sat awkwardly next to the newer sites I had built for the family’s resorts, cabins and retreats. Visitors looking for menus, hours and a sense of the place were met with a dated experience that did the restaurant no favours.

The brief was simple: bring the restaurant up to the same standard as the rest of the Teton Valley Resort family of sites, without losing the warmth and character that regulars already know.

The thinking

The thinking

Because I know the family and their brand so well, we could skip most of the discovery and get straight into design. I started in Figma, laying out a homepage that leads with the food and the atmosphere, then working through menus, hours and the practical pages guests actually need.

From there the design moved into Framer. Building it there means the site stays fast, responsive and easy for the team to edit, and it keeps The Mess Hall consistent with the other resort properties I have worked on.

What I created

What I created

A fully redesigned restaurant website, designed in Figma and developed in Framer. Clear navigation, legible menus, prominent hours and directions, and a layout that works just as well on a phone as it does on a desktop. The visual refresh gives The Mess Hall a modern feel while sitting comfortably alongside the rest of the Teton Valley Resort sites.

The outcome

The outcome

Their website views skyrocketed after launch, and The Mess Hall now has a modern day refresh of what had become an aged digital presence. For me, it was another chance to work with a family I genuinely enjoy building for, and to round out their set of sites with the one that had been waiting longest.
